This is a very good tea for the price!
It has aromas of leather, vegetables, herbs (especially mint) and wet stones.
The flavors are sweet with notes of mountain herbs, leather, fresh tobacco and honeydew rind.
But best of all, in my opinion, is the huigan, or returning sweetness, that is long lasting, sweet and cooling in the throat. It will be my go-to tea all summer, for sure.

this 2023 Pu-erh delivers solid value and flavor

this 2023 Pu-erh delivers solid value and flavor.

The compression is fairly loose, which makes flaking off leaves easy without breaking them into dust. Brewed with reverse osmosis water, 7g of leaf in a 200ml vessel comfortably yields around 1.5 liters of tea, making it remarkably economical for regular sessions.

Temperature control is key here: it performs best between 70°C and 85°C. In this range, it reveals a clean, pleasant sweetness. Pushing the water temperature above 85°C quickly pulls out noticeable bitterness—which is entirely expected for a young Pu-erh from 2023, but it does require some attention during brewing.

A dependable, enjoyable daily drinker if you mind your water temperature.

Great puerh for the price

Great tannin levels, not too bitter, but not so little that you'd be disappointed. Weak on flavour. Great for the price, though.
