Lapsang Souchong (Zhengshan Xiaozhong)

Ik was gewend om de gerookte lapsang souchong te drinken, ‘s ochtends bij het ontbijt. Toen deze ongerookte tegengekomen bij Teasenz, degene die in China ook gedronken wordt. Ik had een paar dagen nodig om om te schakelen en begon toen de essentiële smaak te proeven en geur te ruiken. Ik wil niet meer anders. Heerlijke thee. En gezond ook.

Went into this Lapsang Souchong expecting the usual "smoke and nothing else" — wasn't the case. Dry leaf has moderate smokiness, but the cup leans more into baked plum and a light sweetness, with the smoke sitting in the background rather than dominating. By the third or fourth steep it softens even more, picking up a resinous, campfire-in-the-woods note without any bitterness. Liquor is dark, leaves stay whole after brewing, not broken up.
Only gripe — the first steep is a bit harsh on the smoke, so worth heating the pot properly and not skimping on that first pour. Solid, strong take on a classic Lapsang. 4/5.

Perfect classic Lapsang Souchong, without that smoky aftertaste. It's so hard to find Lapsang without the smoke.

Great Tea, great service

Really liked the pine wood flavour. It gaves a stronger aftertaste compared to other "normal" black teas.

The tea is really good, if a bit basic, but taking into consideration the fact that it's the first ever red tea invented, that's to be expected. It's a great tea for somebody who hasn't tried any chinese red teas before. The flavor is deep and bold, but not overpowering, and the taste is slightly sweet.

Super tee with a scent of smoke💭

Este té tiene un toque ahumado leve y una gran variedad de matices. Muy buen, para repetir.

Brewing: 4g/80ml, 85°C, 5s, +5s.

Warmed-up dry leaves smell like cherries. When wet, smoke and spices appear.

The liquor is nicely balanced: fruity, with notes of exotic woods and a hint of smokiness. This is a much nicer experience than the standard Lapsang Souchong we're used to, in Europe, which now appears excessively smoked and simplistic.

Deze Chinese en niet rokerige Lapsang is een genot om te drinken. HInts van caramel en cacao. Ik heb nu al spijt dat ik slechts een sample heb besteld, want ik zie nu dat de thee al is uitverkocht. Begrijpelijk, want deze is echt overheerlijk. Hoge kwalieit, kan meerdere keren opgeschonken worden. TEASENZ: Hoi Sandra, onze excuses voor het ongemak. We werken er hard aan al onze thee goed op voorraad te houden, maar regelmatig krijgen we grote bestellingen waardoor een thee snel is uitverkocht. Dit zal geleidelijk in de toekomst verbeteren.

Ooit een Lapsang geproefd, en dat bleek geen succes - een erg rokerige thee en voor mij alsof je vloeibaar 'asbak dronk.' Een ervaring om nooit te vergeten, en geen herhaling waard.

Deze Chinese Lapsang is echter niet rokerig - maar heerlijk zoet, met hints van chocolade en caramel. Ongelooflijk lekker, - ik vind het ontzettend jammer dat ik slechts een sample heb besteld, want ik zie nu dat de thee al is uitverkocht. Begrijpelijk.
Ik zou deze graag standaard op voorraad hebben. Aanrader!
