鸭屎香名字由来
相传,坪坑头村的一位僧人发现了一种味道奇特的茶,想要保密。于是他告诉村民,发现茶叶的区域的土地上满是鸭粪。我们无法证实这个故事的真假。不过无论他采取了什么措施,最终都没有成功保密: 鸭屎乌龙已成为该地区最受欢迎的茶叶。

Western method
Infuse 3 grams of Duck Shit oolong tea with 500 ml water at a temperature of 100ºC and steep for 40 seconds. For a second steep increase the steeping time to 1 minute.
Traditional method
Infuse 5 grams of Ya Shi Xiang tea with 100ml water at 100ºC and steep for 10 seconds. Also apply a 10 second steeping time for the 2nd and 3rd steep. Increase the steeping time by 5 seconds for every next steep.

Leaves are roasted in bamboo baskets to enhance aromas.
This Ya Shi Xiang Dan Cong opens lightly, with a subtle pungent edge in the first infusion. From the second and third brews it becomes more expressive, revealing a clean, persistent floral aroma with a characteristic sharp, orchid-like aftertaste. The fourth infusion is the most convincing: more open, slightly mineral, and with a firmer, more defined flavor. Longer steeps bring out increasing mineral notes, while the last infusions feel lighter and more subdued. Overall, an interesting and well-made tea, elegant and aromatic, though its delicate floral pungency and light body.

I was genuinely surprised by this tea, I am just starting my journey in the world of dancong teas, but this one by far is the best one I've had. Maybe my palate is not mature enough to enjoy the more heavily roasted ones, but this tea just blows all of the other ones out of the water so far! Such an amazing experience of intense aroma every sip is! I was skeptical at first when buying tea from here, but I am not disappointed... still, I am in somewhat of a disbelief, how can I get tea for this price to be so good? But I digress, the Ya Shi Xiang character is in the spotlight with this one, and between each sip you take your taste buds just don't forget it. At first I was afraid to have a session with this a second time to not spoil the magic of the first session, but I was even more flabbergasted. I can really recommend this tea for someone who is looking to get into dancong, and someone who wants a highly enjoyable tea for a really reasonable price!
