经典凤凰传承

土林凤凰8501是一款有故事的茶。其渊源可追溯至20世纪80年代——当时普洱茶尚未像如今这般备受追捧。“凤凰”之名首次扬名于1985年，由原下关茶厂专家林兴云先生指导创立，他将技艺带到南涧，自此“凤凰沱”成为滇南工艺的象征，与滇北的下关沱茶并立齐名。

How to make Tulin 8501 tuocha?

There are two methods to prepare this pu erh tuocha tea:

Gongfu brewing

Brew 8 gram with 120 ml of water at 100°C. Steep for 10 seconds and add 5 seconds for each infusion.

Western brewing

Steep 4 gram with 350 ml of water at 100°C. Apply a brewing time of 2-3 minutes and add 1 minutes for each subsequent infusion.

    Withering

    The leaves are spread on bamboo trays to wither.

  • Fixation

    The withered leaves are heated to halt oxidation.

    Sun Drying

    Rolled leaves are spread on bamboo mats to sun-dry.

Great deal for the price

this is 5/5 if you look at price and understand this as an affordable daily sheng. Compared to other subtle young shengs in this store, this one is bold, smoky, rustic, has full bodied assamica flavour. And yet it's still more well rounded than most mini touchas or brick pressed shengs I've found in Europe. The smoky taste also makes it a nice upgrade from something like gunpoweder on chun-mee. And the caffeine level is good. From my understanding Tulin is relatively gentle with smoke, but still it's very noticeable. If you want affordable, this is a good pick. If you want subtle, this is not it, however. :)
