The 'Ru Yi' Tuocha arrives in a beautiful, classic red box. The name literally translates to 'May Your Wishes Come True', and there is no doubt Dayi crafted this pu erh to be a stunning gift, whether for a fellow tea lover or as a display piece for your own collection.

Given Dayi's reputation for mastering pu erh blends, we were eager to put this tuocha to the test. Admittedly, despite the brand's fame, none of us had tried this specific recipe before.

From the very first sip, our immediate thought was: Dayi has done it again. This tea completely avoids the heavy, damp earthiness often associated with aggressive post-fermentation. Instead, the deep red liquor is surprisingly clean, mellow, yet full-bodied. It offers a sophisticated profile with distinct notes of aged wood, cacao, and sweet ripe fruits. Overall, it is a well-balanced tea and, thanks to its approachable taste, a good choice for beginners trying ripe pu erh for the first time.

This Ru Yi ripe tuocha is produced by the Dayi (Taetea) factory. The high-quality leaves used for this tea were harvested in the heart of the Xishuangbanna tea region in Yunnan.

Ji Xiang Ru Yi

The term 'Ru Yi' appears in a common idiom used for wishing good fortune: Ji Xiang Ru Yi (吉祥如意). That is why, along with the production of the 'Ru Yi' ripe tuocha, the Dayi factory also produces the 'Ji Xiang' raw tuocha to complete the blessing. If you are searching for a meaningful, auspicious gift, pairing both tuochas as a set is an excellent choice.
