How to make Dayi Ru Yi ripe pu erh tea?
There are two methods to prepare this pu erh tuo cha tea:
Gongfu brewing
Brew 8 gram with 120 ml of water at 100 °C. Steep for 10 seconds and add 5 seconds for each infusion.
Western brewing
Steep 4 gram with 350 ml of water at 100 °C. Apply a brewing time of 2-3 minutes and add 1 minutes for each subsequent infusion.

Tea leaves are hand-picked in the morning.

The leaves are spread on bamboo trays to wither.

The withered leaves are heated to halt oxidation.

Tea leaves are rolled to release their aroma.

Rolled leaves are spread on bamboo mats to sun-dry.

The leaves are post-fermented in a controlled environment.

The post fermented tea is steamed & compressed.

This is the first time I've bought a ripe pu erh. After some experimenting, this is what I can say:
-like every pu erh, it is suggested to rinse 10-20 seconds before steeping. In fact, I didn't know this and the very first cup of tea was too bitter and with another taste similar to "fishy". The second and the third were absolutely better after rinsing, and without these unpleasant tastes.
-If we compare this tea to the other normal teas (green, black, white) we are talking about something with a really different and "not incredible at the first time" taste. I mean: it's like drinking beer the first time in your whole life: initially it's not so good, but after 2, 3, 4...etc... times you drink it, you are starting to enjoy it.
And in fact, after some cups, I'm starting to enjoy it and I completely agree to the described taste included in this page: "aged wood, cacao, and sweet ripe fruits".
If you still find difficult to enjoy this ripe pu erh, because these are the first times you are trying it, I would suggest to add some brown sugar, which fits perfectly with the taste of this pu erh tea.
Anyway, I'll update this review if there will be updates after drinking many more cups.
Really nice pu ehr tea, long finish, can be steeped several times without any issues.

This is very smooth and clean Shu Pu ehr but not boring. It is a very good Pu Ehr.
