Meet Viola: Our New Member of the Teasenz Family

We're excited to welcome our new member, Viola, to the Teasenz family! Despite her Italian origins, she surprisingly isn't a coffee person, but as you can guess: a true tea enthusiast.

Fascinated by Asian cultures and cuisines, she graduated with a cum laude master's degree in Chinese Language & Culture at Ca’Foscari Venice University, and developed a passion for tea from an early age.

Viola has always been enthusiastic about exploring new teas and discovering unique flavours, and you can wake her up in the middle of the night for a cup of black tea or white tea.

Viola's Tea Journey

During her childhood, Viola always enjoyed drinking tea with family. She shared those familiar and intimate moment almost every day until she moved out during her undergraduate years.

Tea Sommelier Course

Yet, her deep interest in the tea world bloomed, and in 2021, she started a journey to become a certified TAC Tea Sommelier, a course that she will complete soon.

Dissertation about Tea

Her passion for tea is also reflected in her dissertation about a CHZ-ITA translation study of Professor Chen Chuan's article regarding tea classification, which was regarded as a milestone piece in the tea research field.

Viola's Role at Teasenz

After graduation, Viola worked for over 2 years at a cultural foundation in Italy, but never gave up on her dream of a career in the tea industry. Early 2024, we received a job application email from Viola. Impressed by her proven passion for tea, we believed she will be a perfect fit to strengthen our EU team.

Japanese Tea & Tea Curation

Besides assisting in day to day operations and marketing activities, Viola will also lead a major project to expand our offerings with authentic Japanese tea. Yes, you read that correctly! We aim to offer a range of teas from Japan in the second quarter of 2025.

At last, Viola will be involved in the curation of black and white teas for future Teasenz branded tea balls and cakes. Stay tuned.
