Un ceai oolong autentic Tie Guan Yin (zeița de fier a milei) din Anxi, Fujian. Acest ceai oolong ușor are o textură groasă și o aromă netedă, vegetală și florală.
Își datorează numele unei legende în care Zeița Milostivirii dădea un mug de ceai unui fermier sărac. L-a plantat în grădina ei și a cultivat cu el cel mai bun ceai. Cuvântul „fier” din numele său se referă la faptul că acest ceai este rulat în pelete strânse, iar atunci când este scăpat într-un ceainic, veți auzi un sunet similar cu scăparea unor bucăți mici de fier.
Datorită pronunției sale dificile, acest ceai este adesea denumit TGY. În unele dialecte chinezești este scris și ca Ti Kuan Yin.

Western method
Infuse 4 grams of Tie Guan Yin oolong tea with 500 ml water at a temperature of 100ºC and steep for 3 minutes. For a second steep increase the steeping time to 5 minutes
Traditional method
Infuse 5 grams of Tie Guan Yin with 100ml water at 100ºC and steep for 20 seconds. For the second steep, apply a 15 second steeping time. Increase the steeping time by 5 seconds for every next steep.
Cold-brewing
For cold-brewing you may use a bottle, jug, teapot or any brewing vessel that has a lid. Use 8 grams of Tie Guan Yin tea per 500ml of cold water. Cover the brewing vessel with a lid, and store in the fridge for 5-8 hours.

Tie Guan Yin (Iron Goddess) Oolong Tea delivers a clean, smooth, and well-balanced taste with gentle floral and light creamy notes. The aroma is fresh and calming, without any harsh bitterness. The infusion has a clear, light golden color. The flavor opens softly, then develops into a rounded and slightly sweet profile with a long, pleasant aftertaste. The tea leaves handle multiple infusions well, making it ideal for slow, mindful tea sessions as well as everyday enjoyment.

This is one of the best oolong teas I have ever had.
Cheap Tie Guan Yin (TGY) is often mediocre and straightforward, yet easy to drink. This TGY is no exception. TGY can be much more complex and still be pretty affordable (especially compared to other oolongs). Hope that Teasenz will include a more interesting premium TGY option in the future.

When sourcing this Tie Guan Yin our intention was to curate one that's very representative of a traditional TGY and one that is loved by a wide audience. We don't agree that it is 'cheap', but rather one that offers good value for money. We do agree with you that we can explore the TGY space much more, and offer different styles of TGY as we do for other oolong teas such as Dancongs. It's something we'll definitely work on in the future!

The most parfumed oolong that I tasted so far, I love every oolong but this one really reminds me of Taiwan great flower perfumed teas ( as a natural tea parfume, no flowers in this). I really love it, keep on buying it on kilos and I’m glad I can drink it every day…a day without tea is worst than a day with no rice

The best oolong tea I had outside Taiwan and for a reasonable price. It has a very light and perfumed favour, my children love it as well.
Beautiful tea with lots of green nuances, ranging from light almost kakhi to dark wine bottles.
Wet leafs are medium size, almost intact, with a beautiful forest green color.
Aromas are complex, with heavy hitting orchid flowers and peach, but also more subtle hints of freshly baked buttered buns, roasted rice, wet rocks and sweet hay.
The empty cup smells of buttered popcorn and marshmallow.
Taste is sweet and intense and the aftertaste lasts a long time.
I got 9 good steeps out of only 5 grams of leafs, to a 100ml gaiwan, which is pretty impressive for a Oolong.

Când examinează în detaliu designul ambalajului nostru, pasionații de ceai vor observa procesul de preparare a ceaiului, în care fermierii de ceai culeg, uscă, rulează și prăjesc frunze de ceai . Ceaiul este apoi degustat într-un pavilion și transportat de cai de-a lungul „drumul antic al ceaiului”.
Împreună, peisajul tradițional chinezesc și tema fabricării ceaiului, simbolizează moștenirea, tradiția și respectul pentru munca grea a fermierilor de ceai.
