From the heart of Xishuangbanna, this raw pu erh cake by Chaze Factory is crafted from the leaves and buds of ancient trees rooted in Guangbie Old Village, Menghai County.
What sets this tea apart is its enchanting aroma, a complex blend of wildflower, ripe fruit, honey, and cane sugar notes that swirl through each cup. The liquor is thick and velvety, with outstanding sweetness and a lingering aftertaste that leaves you craving another sip. The experience is both invigorating and soothing.
Guangbie Old Village
Guangbie is a Hani ethnic village near the well-known Laobanzhang village. It is surrounded by one of Xishuangbanna’s largest and best-preserved ancient tea gardens. The tea trees grow tall and have large, polyphenol-rich leaves. The area sits at 1600 to 1800 meters above sea level, with a mild average temperature of 17.6℃ and 1329.6 mm of rainfall each year, making it ideal for growing tea.
Fun fact: In the Hani language, this the village name "Guangbie" means “living in a magical place.”
Yaocha: The Enchanting Tea
Tea from Guangbie Old Village is known as Yaocha, which means "enchanting tea," due to its rich aroma that intrigues. This special taste is made possible by the unique terroir and favorable climate, which help the tea leaves develop rich polyphenol levels. We like to think that there is a link between the nickname Yaocha (enchanting tea) and the meaning of Guangbie in the Hani language (magical place).
