This 8501 raw pu erh tea is a classic tuocha made from high-quality material from high-altitude tea gardens across Nanjian and the Wuliang Mountain range in Dali, Yunnan. Thanks to the ecologically rich environment, the tea plants grow strong, producing high-quality tea leaves.

The tea is highly accessible and yet offers a delicious taste with complex floral, honey-sweet, and sugar-cane notes. The texture is pleasantly smooth and thick, while the lingering complexity remains in the mouth and throat after swallowing. Compared to tuocha from the Xiaguan factory, there is almost no green or smoky taste.

This Tulin tuocha can be a trusted daily tea, consistently delivering quality that exceeds its price point. It's an approachable entry-level for new pu erh drinkers, while for seasoned collectors it's a classic and reassuring choice.

The Classic Phoenix Legacy

The Tulin Fenhuang 8501 is a tea with a story. Its roots trace back to the 1980s, when pu erh wasn't sought after as much as nowadays. The “Fenhuang” (Phoenix) name first rose to fame in 1985 under the guidance of Lin Xingyun, a former Xiaguan Tea Factory expert who brought his skill to Nanjian. From that moment, the Phoenix Tuo became a symbol of Southern Yunnan craftsmanship, standing proudly alongside Xiaguan’s Northern counterpart.
