Note: the tea cups are not made by the artist herself, and the material used is different. However, they do match in colour with the teapot. The tea cups are in 'dou li' shape.

Hei Jin Sha Yixing Teapot

This teapot is made from rare 'Hei Jin Sha' clay. The name literally means 'golden black clay', referring to the black colour with visible golden dots.

Teapots made from this clay type are generally more expensive. Not only is the Hei Jin Sha clay scarce, it also has a high shrinkage rate. The latter refers to how much the teapot shrinks after oven-firing. As a result, it's easy for teapots to crack or fail after oven baking. Thus, only experienced Yixing artists are able to handle this clay type.
