2016 Oripuerlab Laomane 200g Raw Pu Erh Tea
2016 Oripuerlab Laomane 200g Raw Pu Erh Tea
A raw pu erh tea made from wild Autumn tea leaves harvested from arbor trees in Laomane (1200m). It offers a pleasant bitterness that quickly vanishes and transforms into a complex sweet and lingering after taste. The texture is smooth and not astringent.
Laomane
Crafted from the "sweet" tea tree varietal in Laomane, this tea goes beyond a mere taste of bitterness. It features a delightful kuwei (enjoyable bitterness) that works harmoniously with its rich texture and prominent huigan (after taste), making it stand out from other teas with bitter notes. It delivers a unique, multi-layered experience with each brew. To highlight this distinction, we recommend comparing it with our Pasha or Nannuo teas.
While this tea may be too assertive for those who prefer more mellow options, it can still surprise and delight their taste buds with its incredible flavor. We encourage an open mind as this tea may redefine your relationship with bitterness.
With an amazing cha qi ('tea energy'), this tea can easily get you 'tea drunk' on an empty stomach. So if you easily get tea drunk, make sure to eat something first.
Oripuerlab
If you're a pu erh collector, you probably already know that Oripuerlab brand has become really popular in China in the past few years. As opportunities to acquire its earlier cakes will become harder over time, we recommend to buy one now.

Our design work is inspired by the artwork “Along the River During the Qingming Festival” by the Zhang Zeduan in the Song Dynasty. Instead of displaying the daily lives of people in the capital of China (as the original artwork), we display the tea making process of farmers through the same bird’s eye perspective.
When examining our packaging design in detail, tea enthusiasts will observe the tea making process, featuring tea farmers picking, drying, rolling, and frying tea leaves. The tea is then tasted in a pavilion and transported by horses along the ‘ancient tea road’.
Together, the traditional Chinese landscape and tea making theme, symbolise heritage, tradition, and respect for hard work of tea farmers.
