Honeysuckle flowers are one of the most powerful herbs you can find to fight inflammation, detox, and clear internal heat.

Our honeysuckle tea steeps a refreshing hayish, flowery, medicinal, and slightly bitter flavour with a sweet finish. As it's made from the most tender and youngest flowers, the taste is significantly less bitter compared to the traditional honeysuckle flowers made for medicinal purposes. Thus, suitable for enjoyment as a Chinese tea.

We do not recommend to drink this tea during pregnancy. When pregnant, your body may slightly increase in temperature, while honeysuckle tea has a 'cooling effect'. In addition, when you suffer from stomach ache or experience a bad stomach, this is also often a sign of over consumption. When unsure, please consult a medical practitioner or a local TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) professional.

How to Steep

Western method

Infuse 3 grams of Honeysuckle herbal tea with 500 ml water at a temperature of 100ºC and steep for 1 minutes. For a second steep increase the steeping time to 1.5 minutes

Traditional method

Infuse 5 grams of dried honeysuckle flowers with 100ml water at 100ºC and steep for 20 seconds. Increase the steeping time by 5 seconds for every next steep.

Cold-brewing

For cold-brewing you may use a bottle, jug, teapot or any brewing vessel that has a lid. Use 5 grams of honeysuckle tea per 500ml of cold water. We highly recommend to add some dried fruits such as goji berries to sweeten the flavour. Cover the brewing vessel with a lid, and store in the fridge for 6-8 hours.

Our design work is inspired by the artwork “Along the River During the Qingming Festival” by the Zhang Zeduan in the Song Dynasty. Instead of displaying the daily lives of people in the capital of China (as the original artwork), we display the tea making process of farmers through the same bird’s eye perspective.

When examining our packaging design in detail, tea enthusiasts will observe the tea making process, featuring tea farmers picking, drying, rolling, and frying tea leaves. The tea is then tasted in a pavilion and transported by horses along the ‘ancient tea road’.

Together, the traditional Chinese landscape and tea making theme, symbolise heritage, tradition, and respect for hard work of tea farmers.
