Handcrafted by certified Yixing artist Wu Ronghua, this gourd-shaped (Hu Lu) teapot showcases a striking two-tone clay technique. The base structure of the teapot, including the spout, handle, and lid knob, is crafted from traditional purple clay (Zi Ni). The main body and lid feature an overlay of rare green clay (Dou Qing), creating a vivid background contrast. Using the traditional appliqué (tie hua) technique, delicate Zi Ni bamboo motifs are meticulously shaped and applied across the body, spout, handle, and knob. What's Included:

The Appliqué Technique (Tie Hua)

Appliqué (tie hua) is a traditional Zisha decorative method used to elevate a teapot's surface design. Master artisans shape individual decorative elements, such as bamboo stems and leaves, using specialized hand tools, then bond them to the vessel using a refined clay paste. In this piece, the rich purple Zi Ni bamboo details create an elegant, tactile contrast against the bean-green Dou Qing surface.

Dou Qing Ni is a rare, highly sought-after clay blended from original ore mined at Huanglong Mountain. Celebrated for its unique bean-green color and superior heat retention.
