Yihao Ancient Tree Ripe pu erh is Chaze’s top ripe Pu-erh selection. After countless rounds of tasting and evaluation, this tea stood out for aroma, flavor, sweetness, body, smoothness, liquor clarity, and the depth of its lingering aftertaste.

This tea is made from first spring ancient tree material harvested in Menghai, Xishuangbanna, with buds and leaves picked to a standard of one bud and two leaves. The high-quality raw material retains remarkable vitality after fermentation, giving the ripe pu erh unusual depth.

A Warming Tea

The first infusions deliver dense chestnut and warm wood notes, then turn fruitier as the session progresses. The liquor is thick, smooth, and full-bodied, with a strong aromatic presence at the back of the mouth and a pronounced, lingering sweetness. A remarkably warming, almost spirit-like sensation in the throat recalls drinking vodka in an ice-cold room: warm, powerful, and deeply contrasting.

An Easy-to-Make Tea

Yihao is highly versatile in preparation. Flash infusions reveal its sweetness, clarity, and finer aromatic details, while longer steeps bring out a darker, richer, and more forceful expression. Adjust the brewing strength to your preference and enjoy a tea that rewards both careful exploration and straightforward daily drinking.
