Ripe Pu Erh Tea Samples Rating
Hello tea enthusiasts!
We hope you’ve enjoyed tasting the ripe pu erh tea samples. Launching a ripe pu erh tea under our Teasenz label has been a long-time dream of ours. Since 2022, we’ve been tasting and exploring countless options, but finding the perfect tea has been been a challenge.
Initially, our goal is to create a single-origin ripe pu erh tea cake, but along the way, we've figured that many of us simply preferred factory blends. And when some of us really liked a particular sample, the opinions were always highly divided. Somehow, it was easy for us to reach a consensus when selecting raw pu erh, black, and white tea for our tea cakes, but not for ripe pu erh tea. That's why we asked for your help!
This experiment is totally new for us, and we had no clue whether or not you would order the samples and provide your valuable feedback. Until today (25 August), we've received 10 responses from all of you, which is pretty good since we only send it to a select group of customers. All of you ordered several times ripe pu erh tea in the past and most of you also wrote reviews about products you ordered. Thank you so much for joining this journey with us.
See below a summary of the ratings.
SPOILER ALERT: if you've not yet submitted your response, we recommend not to read further, so that your response won't be biased! If you want your response to be added to the below results, please submit it latest by the 28th of August!

| 2400 | 2017 Bu Lang | 3.1 | 0 | €47.95 |

| 4280 | 2022 Bang Pen | 2.8 | 1 | €33.95 |
| 5180 | 2017 Lin Cang (Blend) | 4.1 | 3 | €24.95 |
Conclusion
- We are quite excited that sample 5180 is clearly the winner. Not only does it have an high average score of 4.1, also 3 out of the 10 respondents rated it a full score of '5'.
- What's also interesting: it's in fact the lowest cost tea sample, which if launched as a 200g cake, it would only cost €24.95. Given the price, we think it will also be a great daily drinker, for those of you who rated it a '4'.
- At last, from all the tea samples, the winning sample is a blend of tea leaves from different areas of Lin Cang. Which kind of makes us conclude that single-origin ripe pu erh isn't very much appreciated. In fact, our colleague Yan Mei in China, who curated the 5 samples, absolutely loves the 2017 Bu Lang (2400) sample, but isn't rated highly by all of you.
We might go with sample 5180 as our first ever ripe pu erh tea cake, but we'll allow several days for more responses to come in!
