Een authentieke Tie Guan Yin (IJzeren Godin) oolong thee uit Anxi, Fujian. Deze lichte oolong thee heeft een dikke textuur en een zacht, plantaardig en bloemig aroma.
Het dankt zijn naam aan een legende waarin de Godin van Genade een theeplantje schonk aan een arme boer. Hij plantte het in zijn tuin en verbouwde er de lekkerste thee mee. Het woord 'ijzer' in de naam verwijst naar het feit dat deze thee tot stevige korrels wordt gerold. Wanneer je het in een theepot laat vallen, hoor je een geluid dat lijkt op het laten vallen van kleine stukjes ijzer.
Vanwege de moeilijke uitspraak wordt deze thee ook vaak TGY genoemd. In sommige Chinese dialecten wordt het ook geschreven als Ti Kuan Yin.

Westerse methode
Infuseer 3 gram Tie Guan Yin oolong thee met 500 ml water bij een temperatuur van 100ºC en laat 3 minuten trekken. Verhoog voor een tweede keer trekken de weektijd tot 4 minuten
Traditionele methode
Infuseer 5 gram Tie Guan Yin met 100ml water van 100ºC en laat 30 seconden trekken. Pas voor de tweede keer trekken een weektijd van 15 seconden toe. Verhoog de weektijd met 5 seconden voor elke volgende week.
Koud brouwen
Voor het koud zetten kunt u een fles, kan, theepot of elk brouwvat met deksel gebruiken. Gebruik 8 gram Tie Guan Yin thee per 500ml koud water. Bedek het brouwvat met een deksel en bewaar het 5-8 uur in de koelkast.

This is one of the best oolong teas I have ever had.
Cheap Tie Guan Yin (TGY) is often mediocre and straightforward, yet easy to drink. This TGY is no exception. TGY can be much more complex and still be pretty affordable (especially compared to other oolongs). Hope that Teasenz will include a more interesting premium TGY option in the future.

When sourcing this Tie Guan Yin our intention was to curate one that's very representative of a traditional TGY and one that is loved by a wide audience. We don't agree that it is 'cheap', but rather one that offers good value for money. We do agree with you that we can explore the TGY space much more, and offer different styles of TGY as we do for other oolong teas such as Dancongs. It's something we'll definitely work on in the future!

The most parfumed oolong that I tasted so far, I love every oolong but this one really reminds me of Taiwan great flower perfumed teas ( as a natural tea parfume, no flowers in this). I really love it, keep on buying it on kilos and I’m glad I can drink it every day…a day without tea is worst than a day with no rice

The best oolong tea I had outside Taiwan and for a reasonable price. It has a very light and perfumed favour, my children love it as well.
Beautiful tea with lots of green nuances, ranging from light almost kakhi to dark wine bottles.
Wet leafs are medium size, almost intact, with a beautiful forest green color.
Aromas are complex, with heavy hitting orchid flowers and peach, but also more subtle hints of freshly baked buttered buns, roasted rice, wet rocks and sweet hay.
The empty cup smells of buttered popcorn and marshmallow.
Taste is sweet and intense and the aftertaste lasts a long time.
I got 9 good steeps out of only 5 grams of leafs, to a 100ml gaiwan, which is pretty impressive for a Oolong.

Ons ontwerp is geïnspireerd door het kunstwerk "Langs de rivier tijdens het Qingming-festival" van Zhang Zeduan uit de Song-dynastie. In plaats van het dagelijks leven van mensen in de hoofdstad van China te tonen (zoals het originele kunstwerk), tonen wij het theebereidingsproces van boeren vanuit hetzelfde vogelperspectief.
Bij het nauwkeurig bekijken van ons verpakkingsontwerp zullen theeliefhebbers het theeproductieproces zien, met theeboeren die theebladeren plukken, drogen, rollen en bakken. De thee wordt vervolgens geproefd in een paviljoen en vervoerd door paarden langs de ‘oude theeroute’.
Ons ontwerp belichaamt de kunst van het thee maken en het respect voor de toewijding van onze theeboeren.
