英徳紅茶- インホン #9

Took me some some comparative drinking to figure this one out. Seems to me this is a crossoveror a combination of gongfu black tea processing with camphor notes on one hand and assamica cultivar with expected robust, gently astringent feel on the other hand. Preparing it in gaiwan, the first and second flush are thicker, initially more camphor notes later more assamica robustness. The tea is both what is expected of black tea, but with some nuance. Overall solid, has character, taste persists through many flushes. Note - I'm not into black teas, I was interested in this one as it's assamica, but am not that fond of camphor notes.

The fragrance of this tea is the preheated gaiwan is one of the most delicious things I've ever smelled. Sweet, sweet honey and floral warmth. The taste is exquisite, light and gentle honey with hints of maltiness that are getting stronger with later steps. I'm very glad I bought this, it feels very special.

Este té negro llama la atención por el aroma que desprende las hebras antes de infusionarlo. A simple vista se ve la hoja entera lo cual es una buena señal. El sabor de la infusión es dulce con ese leve toque ahumado que caracterizada a muchos tés chinos.

I ordered this tea because Jin Jun Mei was sold out at the time… and I’m so happy it led me to Yingde Black Tea! Full and sweet, a deep, round flavour without the heavy bitterness. Truly beautiful — will definitely order again!

Very fragrant tea, slightly sweeter and more delicate than a Dianhong, it's now one of my favorite red teas.

This was an excellent buy a great black tea with a diverse pallets of tones. mellow and rich, offering a sweet and lasting aftertaste. maintaining its flavor through several brewings. This one will be a standard tea in my collection at home :-)

Brewing: 4g/80ml, 80°C, 5s x 6, +5s.

Warmed-up dry leaves smell like flowers and chocolate. When wet, spices and exotic wood come out to play.

The liquor is a wonderful balance of delicate cherry fruitiness, wood and cocoa. High notes remind me of cinnamon. There's depth in that woodiness section and the overall effect is one of refinement and complexity.
