I fell in love with this Jin Jun Mei from the very first aroma. It has beautiful chocolate and fresh bread notes, with a really unique taste that I’ve never experienced before. It also easily holds up through 6-7 steeps, making it a very enjoyable tea to drink.

Wow. The flavor in this is amazing. Whenever I brew this my partner says, “now *that* smells like some good black tea!” It’s earned a permenant spot on the shelf

The most delicate black tea I’ve ever tasted! It tastes just like flower nectar – and I’m not exaggerating!

Moderate but persistent amount of honey aroma, and indeed those interesting tropical fruit notes. I recommended the tea to my friends!

I newer get tired of drinking this delicate tea. It’s relaxing and slightly sweet. 40 seconds with boiled water is perfect. The new tin box works well too.

I guess it is not fair to put 4 stars for something you are not a fan of. But I would say it is one the black teas I enjoyed. But in general I didn't find this tea very different from other black teas. I think it is less tannin than any other black tea.

Lovely Strong Black Tea

Jin Jun Mei is a naturally more sweet kind of tea with very few bitters, rich in taste and very well balanced. My favorite type of black tea, great quality too.

Really good value for the price, same style as yunnan gold, I would say that yunnan gold is slightly better but jin jun mei is already really good

Brewing: 5g/100ml, 80°C, 5s, +5s.

Warmed-up dry leaves smell of dark chocolate, cherries, flowers and smoked bacon. When wet, the smell of bacon intensifies.

The liquor tastes of cherries, warm spices and chicken soup. This umami flavour is nothing short of spectacular. There are other delicate notes waiting to be discovered in the background, but the meat-like umami is front and centre - and deservedly so.

A few notes about the name: real Jin Jun Mei is extremely rare and extremely expensive, so replicas abound. These "tribute bands" strive to mimic the original's fruitiness and appearance (100% golden buds). The wonderful tea sold here looks more like a "Yunnan Gold" Dian Hong, with half golden buds and half black leaves. I guess the unique taste qualified it for a more prestigious label.

Definitely my favorite black tea at the moment. You can sense notes of chocolate and honey along with a good regular black tea taste.

Delicious tea! The aroma is fantastic and a very rich taste! Love it!

Opens with a pronounced scorched fragrance on the nose and slightly scorched artichokes on the palate, then a more familiar black tea note. The first steep left me with a slight apricot note at the end, absent by the second steep. Not unpleasant but this is my first time tasting this tea.

Best Jin Jun Mei I ever had

My first encounter with this nugget was a few years ago when a sample of Jin Jun Mei arrived with my main order of sheng puerh. When I opened up the little bag I was hit with a beautiful fragrance of budding flowers, fresh pollen & lychee! From that moment onwards I was in love with this tea. The colour is dark maroon with mild taste of honey. Every sip fills your essence with the coming spring.
I like to add half a teaspoon of honey to accentuate its sweetness.

This has got to be one of the most aromatic teas out there. Smells like freshly baked bread, fruit, flowers and chocolate. Highly recommend.
